Leadership Apprenticeships

Think Apprenticeships are for younger adults starting their career then think again. Apprenticeships provide both new and experienced leaders with an opportunity to learn and develop and acquire organisational recognised standards and qualifications.  Apprenticeships provided you with a fantastic blended learning and development opportunity which includes elements of on the job and off the job training.  Apprenticeships are available to anyone over the age of 16 living in England and are accessible to all people from all backgrounds.

There are a number of management and leadership apprenticeships available at all levels:

Team Leader/Supervisor – Level 3

Operational/Department Managers – Level 5

Chartered Manager – Level 6

There will different entry requirements dependent upon the apprenticeship, job role and funding. Applications and release must be approved and supported by your manager. For more information please contact subject heading ‘Leadership Apprenticeships’

Bitesize Learning

We know that sometimes all you need is a quick reminder of how to do the many tasks you undertake in your day to day role.  We are aiming to build a series of ‘bitesize’ learning opportunities to support this, and would be keen to hear from you about the sort of things you’d like to see included. Creating Leadership Connections

Developing compassionate, inclusive and collaborative leaders within DCHS.

Attendance at all masterclasses is required for new people managers or managers who have never previously completed any training in these areas.  If you have attended these masterclasses in the past you will not be required to attend again unless the need for a refresher has been identified.

At DCHS we aspire to build a consistent and embedded approach to developing our leaders. The Leading for Improvement strategy has been designed to ensure we have the management and leadership capabilities across the trust by offering a series of leadership and management programmes. This series will develop the knowledge and understanding of our leaders to support in the day-to-day functioning activities as well as developing leaders who can role model compassionate, inclusive and collaborative behaviours for improvement.

In light of the unprecedented challenges currently being faced by our Service, we have taken the decision to postpone our face to face leadership development training offer. 


We will continue to offer a limited number of sessions by Skype, but recognise that operational requirements will need to be prioritized. 

Face to face sessions will be made available via ESR, with additional provision to ensure space for those wishing to rebook as required, once the situation has settled. 
We recognise that many of you will be dealing with some real challenges, both personal and professional as we go through this period, so please do make use of the support that is available to you via wellbeing team, coaches, and Resolve.
