Physiotherapy

Course 1 - Physiotherapy Clinical Educator Update - Sheffield/Nottingham, Derby, Leicester

Course 2 - Experienced Clinical Educators Update Course

A half day course to update Clinical Educators on a range of local and national issues, facilitated discussion and problem-solving around real scenarios and case studies.

A half day course to update Clinical Educators on a range of local and national issues, facilitated discussion and problem-solving around real scenarios and case studies within DCHS.

Course 2 - Physiotherapy Clinical Educator Course

This course will suit Clinicians with little or no previous experience in supervising students, or clinicians who have not been involved with students for more than 3 years. It is expected that participants will have been qualified for two years.

Self Declaration Form

The self declaration form was created so that you have a record of a current Educator Update and are able to provide evidence of attendance at a local or University Educator Day, or any other formal training you have undertaken that has impacted on your role as an educator would also apply. Types of evidence of Update also include:  Workbased learning by supervising a student (eg, workbased materials you have produced),  a Halfway visit by a visiting Tutor, attendance at placement meetings with a University lecturer, Attendance at Conference. You also need to provide atleast one piece of evidence.

 

Nursing

Initial Mentor preparation is a 10 day course (5 days theory and 5 days practice). It is an expectation that all qualified nurses should complete once they have been qualified for one year and have completed their preceptorship programme.

 

Derby University Mentoring in Practice

Details can be found at  http://www.derby.ac.uk/courses/modules/mentoringinpractice6/They hold courses at Kedleston Road (Derby), Chambers (Chesterfield) and Buxton Campus and an online course. To apply you need complete this application form and return to the University.

Nottingham University Mentor preparation course

Details of Nottingham University’s mentor preparation module can be found at http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/nmp/learning-beyond-registration/modules.aspx. and click on Mentorship, then ‘Mentor Preparation for Nurses and Allied Health Professionals’. Courses are held at their Nottingham and Derby Campus. You apply on-line but will also need to apply for funding in the same way as above.
