Thursday 30 November 2017 09.30am – 16.30pm The Whitworth Centre, Dale Rd N, Darley Dale, Matlock DE4 2EQ  **For info - this event is only open to individuals currently affected by the BCCTH programme including OPMH Teams** The Dementia Rapid Response Team will be a Community based service that can deliver a rapid response with expert and intensive at home support for a short period of time and provide a real alternative to hospital admissions as well as supporting faster discharges and reducing length of stay from specialist OPMH beds. The DRRT will be run by Derbyshire Healthcare FT and provide multi-disciplinary assessment, care and treatment in a person’s home. The service will require a variety of roles including Health Care Assistants, Registered Nurses, Manager, Clinical Leads, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Administrators. UPDATED: National insurance contributions 2012/13

Further to our previous communication regarding the issues with HMRC National Insurance records for 2012/13 unfortunately we have been advised that these still continue.  To recap - whilst the correct deductions have been made from employees and those payments have been made to HMRC it appears that HMRC have not updated employee Personal Tax Accounts - they have however assured us that the actual NI records for individuals are correct.

High intensity user pilot

High intensity user pilot

A new high intensity user pilot will be running at DCHS for 18 moths initially with Rachel Hammond as the Clinical Lead, based at Long Eaton Health Centre. The idea behind the pilot is to work with the most frequent users of the acute services (A&E) and to support them to utilise community resources to manage their conditions.  It is anticipated that a number of these patients will be complex with addictions & or mental health conditions.

Working while you are sick

Sam was on long-term sick leave from her position as a nurse in the NHS because of back-related medical issues.  She was well enough work at a local nursing home though and, whilst there, was spotted by a colleague from the ward where she usually worked.  Checks by the Local Counter Fraud Specialist quickly found out that, over the past 6 years, Sam had been regularly working at the nursing home whilst off sick from the NHS.  On each occasion, she received sick pay from the NHS, which meant she was effectively paid twice. The NHS not only paid Sam’s salary, but also had to pay for agency cover for her post. When Sam was confronted about this, she claimed not to know that she wasn’t allowed to work elsewhere, but in court the judge didn’t agree. Sam lost her job, gained a criminal conviction, had to appear before a professional disciplinary committee and was ordered to pay back the money she had stolen, plus the full costs of the investigation.
