Farewell and thank you to ‘Prof’ Bentley, a message from the Chairman
It is with mixed emotions that I’m writing to announce the departure of our longest serving Non-Executive Director (NED), Professor Chris Bentley. Chris has been with DCHS since day one, serving as a valued member of the Trust Board and Chair of our Quality Service Committee. Sadly Chris’ term comes to an end today, 31 October, having served the maximum permitted term of office for a NED under our constitution.
Chris is one of the NHS’ foremost experts in public health, a real intellectual powerhouse, and a very humble one at that. He’ll leave a lasting legacy, having contributed so much for the health of local people and the NHS as a whole. Most of all, Chris is a caring, compassionate and a very supportive colleague and I’m sure I speak for many of us when I say it’s been a real privilege working together and we will miss him greatly. He is now planning to focus on his public health work nationally and we wish him the very best for the future.
We’ve been working hard on our succession planning for some time now, ensuring our Trust Board is fit for the future with the required expertise. You can read more about our exciting new NED appointments here and in the next edition of My Voice, out very soon.
