NHS Sustainability Day - 21 March
How can you help DCHS become more sustainable? Read on to find out what is happening and what you can do.
We are in the process of agreeing our new Sustainable Development Management Plan which we hope to publish in May or June. This plan has identified a number of areas where we can improve, so our focus during the next two years will be on:
- Sustainable Care Models
- Green Space and Bio Diversity
- Working with Staff, Patients and Communities
- Procurement and Supply Chain
- Further carbon emission reduction measures
- Communication campaign to offer advice and support
If you want more information on these, check out the My DCHS sustainability pages at https://my.dchs.nhs.uk/guidance/sustainability
If you are on Twitter then follow @SustainableDCHS for regular information, advice and updates.
We would like as many people as possible to get involved with helping us become more sustainable so we aim to bring an online community together to share ideas, offer support and suggest other ways to help us meet our goals.
You’ll be able to get involved in those areas you are most interested in, whether it is sustainable travel, healthy eating, green space, volunteering, exercise and health promotion, waste and recycling, climate change…whatever your interest we want you to get involved.
Look out for further information to come.
In the meantime, 21 March is NHS Sustainability Day, so think about what small change you can make to help us become just a little more sustainable – checkout https://my.dchs.nhs.uk/guidance/sustainability for some simple ideas.
If you want to get involved now, then please feel free to contact Mark Armstrong-Read (email@example.com or Tel: 07917 106296) to discuss how you can help.
