Whitworth hospital building work – non-clinical staff asked to work agilely.

Work is due to commence on Monday, 29 April 2019 to extend the car parks at the rear and front of the Whitworth Hospital site. This work will take approximately 11 weeks in total and will provide an extra 21 spaces to the site. It will start at the rear of the hospital and should take approximately six weeks. When this phase is complete the work at the front of the hospital will begin and should take a further five weeks.

During this time, parking will be greatly restricted and we must do all we can to avoid compromising parking for patients and people using the disabled spaces. We have permission to use the small car park at Millner Racing just up the road from Whitworth Hospital and Jonathan Sanderson and Melissa Dalton are going to co-ordinate with their staff to use this area.

Non-patient facing staff are asked to work agilely and not to access Whitworth site unless absolutely necessary. If you do have to park on the hospital site ensure that you park considerately and do not cause any restrictions to access for patients and emergency vehicles.  You also need to be aware that heavy plant vehicles will be moving around the site. The rear entrance will still be used for access only, however the contractors will be using it to exit the site occasionally. Banksman will be utilised during these times to ensure safety is maintained.
