Change to recruitment advertising
During the Better Care Closer to Home transformational change programme the recruitment team were initially advertising all posts to those on the redeployment register and then internally prior to advertising externally. This arrangement was set up to allow for movement within the trust during this period of transformation. Now that this programme has ended it has been agreed with the Staff Partnership Committee that we would revert back to ‘business as usual’ where vacancies will be advertised externally for internal and external applicants to apply unless Appointing Officers request for the vacancy to be initially advertised internally or to the redeployment register.
This decision will reduce the length of time to recruit, however, Appointing Officers are reminded that they will still be required to offer a preferential interview to any applications from individuals on the redeployment register first, before any other applicants, where they meet the essential requirements for the role or would meet this with a reasonable period of training and support.
