Join in June
In June, the Wellbeing Team aee encouraging us all to ‘Join in’ and identify opportunities available to volunteer or celebrate the work we already do as volunteers.
Volunteering can give you a sense of fulfilment and satisfaction in or out of the workplace and brings with it a host of mental and physical benefits including;
- A sense of belonging
- Keeping things in perspective.
- Helping to make the world a happier place – it’s contagious!
- Reduced stress
- Reduced negative feelings
So volunteering is good for you, but it’s also good for the NHS as if staff, patients and the community volunteer then as well as providing social and environmental benefits it can also reduce reliance on and costs of the NHS in the future.
If you are new to volunteering then take a look here for opportunities nearby.
Test yourself and step out of your comfort zone, engage in something you’ve put on the back burner for a while. Indulge in helping others as its good for the soul.
