What should I do if the test and trace app advises me to self-isolate?

If you are informed by the Covid-19 app that you may have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, you are required to take the following steps:

  1. Contact your line manager (or the leader overseeing the team that day) to discuss the circumstances and carry out an informed risk assessment. Where were you at the time, how long were you in that location? Did you social distance? Did you wear a mask?
  2. If there remains significant concern after the risk assessment and discussion and the line manager doesn’t feel able to make a decision about whether the individual is able to attend work, the line manager should contact the IP&C team to seek further advice. If you do not receive a timely response from the IP&C team then Jo Hunter, Deputy Chief Nurse, is also able to provide advice where necessary.
  3. Please note – if you received a call from the national Test and Trace system then this is different – you must self-isolate immediately or risk £1k fine.
