Tracy and Prem's festive message

Dear colleagues
After so much to challenge us this year we wanted to say the biggest, from our hearts, THANK YOU for everything you have done to support DCHS and each other during 2020.
It’s been a fantastic effort in the most difficult of circumstances, while coping with all the uncertainties that Covid-19 has brought into every element of our home and work lives.  To say we are proud of you is an understatement – we are incredibly grateful and privileged to have such a dedicated and amazing bunch of colleagues.  Your team spirit is what we’ll choose to remember about 2020, and so we wanted to share something to make you smile and to celebrate that we have got through this toughest of years together.
A week or so ago our comms team put out the invitation for volunteers to participate in a seasonal “home” video and now, with a bit of editing magic thrown in, we can bring you the #TeamDCHS Christmas Cracker!
With a large cast of DCHS stars - including your amazing children and festive furry friends – it is a celebration of the support that has helped to keep us buoyed up against the storm which the pandemic unleashed on us in such an unexpected way at the start of 2020.  It is set to a brand new poem by our own Heather Longbottom who has penned such funny and poignant words for us over the past few months (as well as becoming something of a “poet’s corner” regular on BBC Radio Derby!)
We’ll be greeting 2021 with a little hesitancy, but with confidence in you, #TeamDCHS, being as responsive, kind, compassionate and brilliant in the next 12 months as you have been all year.
For those of you working over the holiday, you have our utmost thanks and gratitude, and a sincere wish that you get a well-earned break at some point during the festive period. For everyone, please take time to recharge your batteries and have a proper rest. While we can’t see our friends and families in person, we hope you find ways to feel those connections and make it a special time.
Now sit back, enjoy and see how many familiar faces you can spot underneath those Santa hats!

With our very best wishes for a happy Christmas and a better, brighter 2021
