Requests for support will only be considered if the care of a vulnerable person is in jeopardy. An example of this would be urgent clinical need for a Community Nurse to get out to a vulnerable patient in an area affected by snow/ice.
Due to the scarcity of this resource, requests from staff for transport to or from work should be rejected unless it is an emergency situation and all other options have been exploited.
The process for staff to request 4x4 support is: -
Assess the situation - Does the request meet the above criteria? Is it essential? Is it an urgent or can it wait?
Request support - Requests can only be progressed via the following routes: -
· 09:00 – 17:00 Mon-Sun (7 days) – contact the Clinical Navigation Team at Clay Cross on 01246 252954.
· Out of hours – contact the On-Call Manager via Radbourne Unit Switchboard on 01332 623700 (ask for DCHS’ On-Call Manager).
