LGBT+ declaration on census for 1st time

LGBT+ declaration on census for 1st time on 21 March! Help our LGBT+ Network understand DCHS

With the 2021 Census making its way through your doors, we wanted to take the opportunity to explain why we at DCHS gather equality & inclusion data and ask you to complete a short survey in regards to our LGBT+ Staff Network. This survey is for everyone and we are hoping to get as many of you as possible to complete it.

The Census gathers household data to help organisations make decisions on planning and funding for public services in your area, including transport, education and healthcare. Similarly, DCHS is legally required under the Public Sector Duty Act to collect equality & diversity monitoring information to:

  • Eliminate discrimination, harassment, victimisation of staff and patients
  • Advance equal opportunities for all
  • Build good relations between all.

Equality & diversity data helps us drive change where it is needed, improve patient services/experiences and improve staff working conditions and experiences. In particular, we are keen to understand the wider DCHS view on the LGBT+ network and what direction the network takes. Therefore, we appreciate you taking the time to complete this survey which only takes a few minutes and will be submitted anonymously unless you provide your email address at the end.
