Equality, Diversity & Human Rights Week 2021

This week, 10-14 May, is the Equality, Diversity & Human Rights Week 2021, which is in its 9th year and a national platform for organisations to highlight their work to create a fairer and more inclusive NHS for patients and staff.  Colleagues can download and utilise the following digital resources throughout this week:

Nationally across the NHS, each of the 5 days next week will be themed around one of the pledges from the NHS People Promise, a key plank of the NHS People Plan and that all health and social care organisations are encouraged to support these themes within their organisations in whatever way they can, be it via team meetings, over coffee with colleagues, etc.  Colleagues can share/tweet about their activities during the week using #EQW2021 @DCHStrust on Twitter and/or Facebook and #EQW2021 @EqualityDITeam on Twitter.  The themes for the 5 days are:

Colleagues can also attend a webinar on ‘How can networks support the health and wellbeing of staff’ - 3:30-4:30pm on Thursday 13 May delivered by NHS Employers, the Health and Care LGBTQ+ Leaders Network, BME Leadership Network, Health & Care Women Leaders Network and Health and Wellbeing Team.  The session will explore how networks have made adjustments to how they operate during the pandemic, the health & wellbeing challenges their members have faced and the crucial support networks provide.  To find out more and register, colleagues can click here.
