Walton Hospital car park closure for two weeks from 23 July
Walton Hospital’s bottom car park, nearest the Peter McCarthy Suite and main reception, will be closed for two weeks from Friday 23 July for essential work to take place.
We are sorry for the disruption this will cause and thank everyone for their patience. If you can work off site, please do so. If it is essential you are on site, please consider if you can manage not to bring a car on site during daytime hours when the outpatient clinics are open.
The top car park, near the road entrance, will be available for essential staff, patients and visitors. The drop-off area outside the Peter McCarthy Suite’s main entrance will remain available for patients with mobility issues to be dropped off and picked up before and after their appointments.
The car park closure is to allow deep drainage trenches to be dug across the car park, as part of infrastructure work associated with the housing development under construction on land adjoining Walton Hospital.
It was a condition of the sale of the land, by us several years ago, that contractors would be permitted this access when the time came. We are working closely with the contractors to ensure the disruption to DCHS colleagues and to our patients is kept to a minimum.
