Leader's update - 8 November

Finance Q and A session
Wednesday 24 November (10.30am – 11.30am)

This Q and A session is for anyone to join who has a question regarding finance within DCHS. There will be a small team from Finance attending, who will be happy to answer any queries you may have. The panel members will be Catherine Easton, Michelle Mawer, Dawn Marsden, David Gray, Nicola Steenson and Sarah Harrison.

There are many areas of finance which can be covered, for example:

  • Budget management
  • Charitable funds
  • Use of Oracle
  • Petty cash
  • VAT
  • Authorised signatories

Please note that Finance department do not have responsibility for payroll or pensions so unfortunately will be unable to answer individual queries on these topics. If you would like a place on this session, please book via ESR.

Midlands Leadership Academy
Dates in January and February 2022

Introducing an informative and engaging systems leadership series which builds upon the success of the complete leadership series.  

As a response to the newly formed ICS’s these master classes are based on the Northwest NHS Leadership Academy’s systems leadership model of principles and behaviours and explore the move to systems thinking and working within the NHS.

This series comprises of four virtual masterclasses on systems leadership (with accompanying podcasts)

This is the first masterclass in the series (Wednesday 12 January) and focusses on the idea of systems, the community and I. It’s a theory-based workshop that will tackle the key elements of systems leadership, taking a holistic approach with an emphasis on: 

  • Creating an inclusive and diverse changemaking culture 
  • Bringing together knowledge, understanding and confidence to engage in leadership behaviours in working across system and community 
  • New ways of working – prioritising population health and reducing health inequalities 
  • Explore the beliefs underlying your approach to leadership and change 
  • Share ideas/theories about what makes system’s theories different, which will give you the confidence to lead differently

Derbyshire Coaching Network
Tuesday 14 December (1.30pm - 3pm)

The Derbyshire Coaching Network is a group of health and social care professionals who offer coaching and mentoring in addition to their varied day-to-day roles across Derby and Derbyshire. 
Join us in for our next network meeting on Tuesday 14 December (1.30pm – 3pm) where we will be joined by Dr. Suzanne Ross who will be facilitating a CPD session on ‘Coaching for Resilience.’
Suzanne has over 20 years global experience in high performance practices, talent management, leadership, and team development. Suzanne has a PhD in leadership talent, success and derailment, a MSc in Performance Management, and a BSc in Management Sciences (Marketing and Law). She is a qualified and experienced Executive Coach; a Member of the International Coaching Federation; a Master Practitioner of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and a member of the Working with Resilience Global Consortium.
