National Safeguarding Adults Awareness Week - 15 - 19 November
The theme of this year's week is ‘Creating Safer Cultures’.
The Ann Craft Trust is working in partnership with Safeguarding Adults Boards across the country, to promote National Safeguarding Adults Week 2021 and have highlighted several themes for focus and exploration across the week. In Safeguarding Adults Week, we aim to create a time where we can all focus on safeguarding adults. Each day will be focused on a different safeguarding adult at risk issue. Everyone, from all walks of life, should be aware of the role they can play in helping to prevent abuse. We should all know how to spot the signs of abuse, and the actions we should take if we spot any signs.
That’s what Safeguarding Adults Week is all about. We want to start a conversation about safeguarding – so we can all be better, together.
Derby Safeguarding Adults Board has coordinated this practice development week to present briefing events on those key themes. Each briefing event will provide attendees with knowledge to promote awareness, discussion and reflection on how practice can be adapted to promote the six principles of Safeguarding Adults: Empowerment, Prevention, Proportionality, Protection, Partnership and Accountability.
