Shout out to colleagues going the extra snowy mile

A big shout out and thank you to all of you who were on call or on duty over the weekend when the snow hit. Special mention to the High Peak Integrated Community Services team who really did have to battle the elements to reach their patients, and to team leader Dan Stevenson who supported his team during his off-duty time. On-call manager Lisa Salton was in mission control to ensure the community teams were safe and that we continued to provide services to those who needed them. Dan has written a lovely note to his team for going the extra mile in difficult conditions – showing really compassionate leadership and something we’d say is definitely a great example of doing things The DCHS Way. As this is just the start of winter we need to be geared up for more winter weather, keeping services going but also ensuring our own and our colleagues’ safety at all times.
