Derbyshire NHS leaders to host informal lunch-time spotlight session on NHS in Chesterfield area – all welcome

Health leaders are hosting an informal lunchtime spotlight session on NHS services in the Chesterfield area next Thursday (28 April) which is open to all.

The free event is being run by Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust at 12.30pm at St Thomas' Centre, Chatsworth Road, Brampton, Chesterfield, S40 3AW. It will be followed at 1.30pm by the trust’s April board meeting, which is also open to the public at the same venue.

The informal lunchtime spotlight session is a new idea, designed to provide a chance for all comers to chat to local healthcare leaders in a friendly atmosphere over light lunch refreshments, and to share views and updates specifically about health services in their area. This is a walk-in event, there is no need to book in advance.

Prem Singh, chairman of Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust, said: "We have chosen lunchtime to be convenient for people to pop in to our new open spotlight session.  This month we are in Brampton on the outskirts of Chesterfield so our focus is very much on services in this corner of Derbyshire. We are there to talk about health matters which matter to local people. It’s very important for us to listen and learn from our service users, patients and families.”

And he added: "In May we’ll be in Buxton and in June we’ll be in Matlock as we aim to move around the county to give local people a chance to ask questions and hold us to account, which we take very seriously as an NHS foundation trust accountable to the communities we serve.”

There is no formal agenda for the spotlight session, but health leaders will share information about NHS services in that area. Papers for the board meeting at 1.30pm are available online at:

Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust runs services at 11 community hospitals and 30 health centres across Derbyshire, with nearly 1.5 million patient contacts each year. Details of services here:
