Carers Week 12-18 June 2017

Carers week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges faced by carers and recognise the valuable contributions they make.

Some interesting facts:

  • It is estimated there are 118 000 carers in Derbyshire.
  • 3 in 5 of us will become a carer
  • Unpaid carers provide ¾ care in the community
  • Carers save communities in Derbyshire approximately £880 million every year!

DCHS Carers Week Pledges:

Ø	We will recognise you as a carers, consider your needs, sign-post you to information and support. 
Ø	We will involve and treat you as an expert in care with dignity, respect and compassion. 
Ø	We will raise awareness of carers needs by offering training and information through regular communications.
Ø	We will support staff who are carers to share their stories and improve their wellbeing
