Do something incredible for Derbyshire's lonely older people!

With almost three-quarters of older people in the UK identifying as lonely and more than half of those saying they have never spoken to anyone about how they feel, it has never been more important to stand against loneliness in later life.

The detrimental impact that loneliness and social isolation can have on our physical and mental health is no secret: loneliness increases the likelihood of mortality by 26% and those who are isolated have an increased risk of developing coronary heart disease and experiencing a stroke.

However, you’ll be pleased to know you can contribute towards a life free from isolation for the UK’s older generation!

By taking part in fundraising activities and events for Derbyshire-based national charity MHA you can do something incredible by helping to improve the lives of older people living across Derbyshire and beyond - one of enjoyment where they can feel supported and connected in communities that care.

In fact, every penny raised for MHA’s fundraising arm Best For Ages will help older people to thrive, whether that's by attending one of 58 life-changing Live at Home schemes available across England, Scotland and Wales or through MHA's ground-breaking music therapy programmes for those living with dementia.

So how can you get involved…?
