Calling all Medequip prescribers ......
Under the umbrella of the Outstanding Way initiative we have identified a need to focus on the issues and challenges staff have highlighted around accessing equipment from Medequip. We are looking at internal processes; consistency; accountability and audit; authorisation processes and weekend working.
As part of this work stream we have launched a Medequip prescribers awareness campaign. Over the next five weeks we are asking all Medequip prescribers to refresh/update their understanding of their responsibilities as a prescriber, familiarise themselves with the updated DCHS web resource and to look out for our eye-catching posters and other materials!
We are also working with our partners at TCES to look at improving authorisation and other processes.
Who’s involved in the Outstanding Way?
This initiative is county-wide, starting in our community based teams, and is being led and supported by the following staff: Melissa Deighton – Programme Lead; Julie Wheeldon, Brenda Page and Jane Warder – Operational Leads and Jim Austin – Exec Sponsor. There are also a number of other staff involved in leading/supporting specific work streams.
