Review of NHS learning disabilities short breaks services provided in north Derbyshire
Derbyshire CCGs have decided to undertake a review of our learning disability short breaks service in the north of the county. On Tuesday 17 July they started a period of engagement with service users, families and carers and other key stakeholders to discuss some of the challenges faced by the service and potential options to ensure it’s sustainable in the future.
We met with colleagues in the service on Monday 16 July to share this information and to answer any questions. For the time being it’s business as usual – no decisions to change the delivery of the current model will be made without detailed engagement with individual service users, their families and carers and key stakeholders, including DCHS as the provider. A formal public consultation may be undertaken if it is deemed appropriate after the engagement period.
Further information and related documents will be published on www.northderbyshireccg.nhs.uk/ from 18 July.
