Derbyshire NHS Library and Knowledge Service
The Derbyshire NHS Library & Knowledge Service is a collaboration between three NHS Trusts to provide a comprehensive library and knowledge service to all employees of DCHS. Our aim is to deliver high quality information to support patient care, clinical decision making, policy making, learning and development and research. We provide the following services to help you access the latest evidence and information:
Enquiry and Literature Search Service
Are you having trouble finding the evidence you need to support a new service? Struggling with finding the time to search for information? We offer a specialised enquiry and literature search service, please contact us with details of the information, research or evidence you need and we can do the searching for you. If you are responsible for updating guidelines or policies and procedures we can help by finding the latest documents for you.
Do you need help with getting up to date with social media? Brush up on your Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint skills? Are you undertaking an undergraduate or postgraduate course and need help critiquing an article? We offer training for staff in these areas as well as a range of information skills workshops designed to equip you with the skills necessary to find and retrieve evidence based information, research and articles.
Our continually developing library collections cover all aspects of health from acute to primary care, mental health, public health, health management and research. In our three libraries across Derbyshire we hold over 30,000 books, dementia and autism resource packs to support patients and provide access to computers and the internet. We can support you with your elearning and guide you through the maze of NHS policies and procedures.
Keeping Up To Date
To save you time we offer a current awareness service through our KnowledgeShare database. You can receive daily, weekly or monthly updates on the latest research and evidence tailored and targeted to you. The updates focus on the evidence that can change practice and the latest publications on quality, safety, education and patient experience.
