Site closure oversight group established

Site closure oversight group established

New arrangements are being put into place to ensure DCHS supports the safe close-down of parts of our sites earmarked for closure under transformation plans. The first meeting of the new Site Closure Oversight Group, chaired by Jim Austin, Associate Director of Transformation, took place this week. It will meet monthly to oversee the establishment of consistent practices, procedures and governance arrangements for large scale moves out of administrative and clinical areas by DCHS staff. The Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and Treatment (ReSPECT) replaced the East Midlands Unified DNACPR form across DCHS, Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Royal Derby Hospital on 25th June. Adoption of the process by GP practices within Derbyshire has been variable and therefore some patients will still have valid decisions about cardiopulmonary resuscitation documented on the red-bordered form. Health and social care professionals working across Derbyshire including primary, secondary, community, care home and ambulance staff have agreed to recognise the legitimacy of both forms of recording decisions about resuscitation status.
